Day Four Begins...

Last night, after completing our cleaning of the orphanage (pics of that further down), we all gathered in the small home that Irene, Roshan, and Reema live in, for a time of prayer. It began as a time to pray for Roshan's meeting with a property owner that may sell his property to Happy Home(they are badly in need of new facilities, and the church that owns this property they are using now is taking it back from them),but it turned into a beautiful time of exhortation, praise, encouragement, prayer for healing, thankfulness. There was hardly a dry eye to be seen by the time we wrapped it up with some impromptu praise songs.
We all felt the power of the Holy Spirit in a new way last night. I feel I will never pray in the same way again.

After some much need rest, we arrived back at Happy Home for some more worship

and a meditation on Psalm 107. Then more of Irene's amazing cooking! She made us coffee, tea, sweet rice patties, and coconut milk from the coconut trees in their front yard. Soo good!

Here are some pics from our cleaning session yesterday:

First, the guys went in to town to buy some much needed cleaning supplies. Irene was thrilled! Before this they have been cleaning the entire orphanage with one mop, and two brooms made from sticks.

Melis and Ryan dueling it out. I think she won..

Tiff makes mopping look dang good

Roshan and the crew, mopping the kids classroom.

Jeremy and Ben.....um...not sure what's going on exactly, but they are very into it, whatever it is...

Mopping up...

Tiff and Jeanne have the most beautiful servants hearts. They voluntarily tackled the biggest, dirtiest job, of cleaning the kitchen where they cook for the kids, without complaint. Yes, they are sitting in the "sink", scrubbing away.

Just to give you guys at home some perspective: this shelf is the medicine shelf for the entire orphanage. That's more than 70 children, 3 staff members, and Irene, Roshan, and Reema. Thanks to you all for the medicines and first aid supplies that you provided for us to bring! We are going to bring the bags of supplies to the Home tomorrow :)

When we were done mopping and cleaning, Reema asked if we wanted to try milking one of the Home's cows. Allison and Tiff were first up :)

Ryan went next. I think the cow's tail kept whipping him in the face. That's Edwin on the right, trying to teach everyone about the proper technique

Jeanne get's a ride from two of the boys

And finally, some more pics of the team with the kids from the orphanage, and some from the neighborhood.

Again, thank you all for your prayers, and your comments. We read them every day!

Love to you all...

.Rebekah

"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has appointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives, and release from darkness for the prisoners..." Kathy and I read this passage from Isaiah this morning in our quiet time together. You are on our hearts and mind in a very real way this morning. We are so proud of you all and the work you are doing there. Our prayer today is that you will be the hands and feet of Jesus as you fulfill this assignment. Remember, "you are appointed..." What can be cooler than an appointment from Jesus??!!!

love and miss you,

Larry & Kathy

I just checked the blog for the first time this morning! So amazing!! I didn't realize you would have access to post everyday. I am definately making this part of my mornings from now on.

I am praying for each of you specifically, and will add your coworkers over there to my list. I was reading yesterday morning on our independence day and Galatians 5:13 came to my mind: "For you were called to freedom, brethren; only {do} not {turn} your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another." May God bless the work of your hands, and give you boundless energy that you might not grow weary.

What a blessing this sight has been for those of us who are praying for all of you in India. The Lord impressed upon me the verse Psalm 37:5,6 "Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun." We are praying that as you make God your guide and submit in everything to his guidance, then even the most intricate and perplexed days shall be made well. May God's spirit truly move within you as you touch these beautiful lives in India. We love you and take care of that gentle giant! Tom and Sheryl Reedal
